Quicklinks
As Registration Authority for the ISO 24165 standard, the DTI Foundation allocates and maintains DTIs on a cost-recovery basis, with the aim of increasing transparency in the digital asset space through the creation of a core ISO reference data set.
1 ISSUANCE
The 2026 DTI allocation fee is shown below and is intended to cover the marginal cost of issuance, in-line with the DTI Foundation’s obligations to ISO based on projected users and volumes.
DTI Allocation
€186 per DTI*
DTI Allocation [Beta]
€186 per Group DTI / year**
DTI Allocation [Beta]
The DTI Foundation conducted its latest public consultation in October 2025 to receive feedback on the cost recovery model. Based on the current user base and projections, the model will be maintained, adjusted for inflation and in line with ISO commitments.
*Future allocation fees are projected to be significantly reduced as volumes increase. Any fee changes will be consulted upon with industry stakeholders.
**DTIF is piloting a recurring, group-level subscription during September 2026. This option allows a Group DTI and its associated constituent token DTIs to be maintained under a single annual fee, rather than a one-off fee per constituent token DTI. Available on the same terms to any registrant entering into an agreement during the pilot period. This option is in beta and its terms, including any ledger or volume limits, may be revised following industry feedback.
***DTIF is piloting an API for programmatic, high-volume DTI allocation during September 2026. The option applies a tiered fee structure linked to allocation volume, intended to reflect operational efficiencies at higher volumes. Participation is available on consistent terms to any registrant entering the pilot. This option is in beta and its terms, including tiering thresholds and associated fees, may be revised following industry feedback.
1.1 VERIFICATION
The party applying for a DTI code must enclose the necessary information that is considered to be essential for allocating the DTI code. DTIs are assigned in accordance with ISO 24165-1:2025 and ISO 24165-2:2025. All registration requests submitted via the DTI Foundation website will be verified to ensure that:
1 The token exists and is eligible for a DTI.
2 The token has not already been assigned a DTI.
3 Normative and/or Informative data supplied by the registrant meets the validation criteria.
2 ACCESS
The DTI APIs allow download of the latest snapshot, historical data, daily delta files and the ability to search on specific data elements. The Standard API, operated on a cost-recovery basis, provides access to the current production registry. Premium or Enterprise APIs include additional features such as historical snapshots, delta files, versioning and other metadata.
