As Registration Authority for the ISO 24165 standard, the DTI Foundation allocates and maintains DTIs on a cost-recovery basis, with the aim of increasing transparency in the digital asset space through the creation of a core ISO reference data set.
The 2026 DTI allocation fee is shown below and is intended to cover the marginal cost of issuance, in-line with the DTI Foundation’s obligations to ISO based on projected users and volumes.
Service | Fee |
DTI Allocation (one-off fee) | € 186 per DTI* |
Standard API Registry Access | € 7,409 per year** |
UAT API Registry Access | Free |
The DTI Foundation conducted its latest public consultation in October 2025 to receive feedback on the cost recovery model. Based on the current user base and projections, the model will be maintained, adjusted for inflation and in line with ISO commitments.
*Future allocation fees are projected to be significantly reduced as volumes increase, with the allocation of DTIs for DLT-based financial instruments to be brought under cost-recovery. Any fee changes will be consulted upon with industry stakeholders.
**API Registry access is available at no cost to all regulatory and tax authorities interested in receiving DTI reference data to support supervisory activities relating to crypto and digital assets.
