Second consultation package on MiCA technical standards
The DTIF responded to the European Securities and Markets Authority’s (ESMA) second consultation package on technical standards under the Markets in Crypto Assets Regulation (MiCA). Importantly, ESMA has proposed use of the ISO 24165 Digital Token Identifier (DTI) for crypto-asset identification under the following regulatory and implementing technical standards:
- RTS on trade transparency (pre- and post-trade)
- RTS on content and format of order book records
- RTS on record-keeping by crypto-asset service providers
- RTS on the data necessary for the classification of white papers
- ITS on standard forms and templates for the crypto-asset white paper
The ISO 24165 DTI standard has been created for the specific purpose of providing a unique and unambiguous identification for digital tokens and DLT networks based on objective and publicly verifiable technical attributes.
The DTI Foundation welcomes feedback on any other potential relevant technical attributes which could be added to the DTI Registry to support wider implementation of the ISO 24165 standard.
Industry stakeholders are encouraged to engage in development of the ISO 24165 DTI standard by applying to join DTIF’s Product Advisory Committee.
